Jason Rezaian is an Iranian-American journalist who served as the Washington Post Tehran bureau chief from 2012 to 2016. He was arrested in July 2014 and held in solitary confinement for months. He was convicted of espionage and sentenced to 10 years in prison in October 2015. Rezaian was released in January 2016 as part of a prisoner swap between Iran and the United States.
