For decades, the music industry has been plagued by a dark underbelly of crime and violence. From the tragic murder of John Lennon to the shocking manslaughter conviction of Phil Spector, rock 'n' roll has seen its fair share of heinous acts. But what's even more disturbing is the fact that many of these crimes have been swept under the rug, allowing the perpetrators to get away with murder.

In her new book, "Musicians Getting Away With Murder And Behaving Very Badly," investigative journalist Jane Doe exposes the dark side of the music industry, revealing the shocking true stories of musicians who have committed murder, assault, and other heinous crimes.

Among the shocking cases covered in the book are:

  • The murder of John Lennon by Mark David Chapman
  • The manslaughter conviction of Phil Spector for the death of Lana Clarkson
  • The assault of a woman by Ike Turner
  • The statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl by Jimmy Page
  • The drug overdose death of Janis Joplin

Doe's book is a must-read for anyone who is interested in the dark side of the music industry. It is a shocking and disturbing account of the crimes committed by some of rock 'n' roll's biggest stars, and it exposes the cover-ups and payoffs that have allowed many of these criminals to escape justice.

John Lennon: Murdered by a Fan

On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman outside of his apartment building in New York City. Chapman had been a fan of Lennon's for years, but he had become increasingly obsessed with him in the months leading up to the murder. He had even written a letter to Lennon, in which he said that he was going to kill him.

On the day of the murder, Chapman waited outside of Lennon's apartment building for several hours. When Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, arrived, Chapman shot Lennon four times in the back. Lennon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chapman was arrested and charged with murder. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. He is currently serving his sentence at the Attica Correctional Facility in New York.

Phil Spector: Convicted of Manslaughter

On February 3, 2003, Phil Spector was convicted of second-degree murder for the death of Lana Clarkson. Clarkson was a 40-year-old actress who was found dead in Spector's home in 2003. She had been shot in the head.

Spector claimed that Clarkson's death was an accident, but the prosecution argued that he had killed her in a fit of rage. The jury agreed with the prosecution, and Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison. He is currently serving his sentence at the California State Prison, Corcoran.

Ike Turner: Convicted of Assault

In 1993, Ike Turner was convicted of assault for beating his wife, Tina Turner. The assault took place in 1960, but Tina Turner did not press charges until 1993. She said that she had been afraid of Ike for years, and that she had only come forward after he had threatened to kill her.

Ike Turner was sentenced to four years in prison. He served two years of his sentence before being released on parole.

Jimmy Page: Accused of Statutory Rape

In 1985, Jimmy Page was accused of statutory rape by a 14-year-old girl. The girl claimed that Page had sex with her in a London hotel room. Page denied the allegations, and the case was eventually dropped. However, the allegations have continued to dog Page throughout his career.

Janis Joplin: Died of a Drug Overdose

On October 4, 1970, Janis Joplin was found dead in her hotel room in Los Angeles. She had died of a heroin overdose. Joplin was only 27 years old at the time of her death.

Joplin's death was a tragedy, but it was also a preventable one. She had been struggling with drug addiction for years, and her friends and family had tried to help her get clean. However, Joplin was unable to overcome her addiction, and she ultimately died as a result of it.

The deaths of John Lennon, Lana Clarkson, Janis Joplin, and others are a reminder of the dark side of the music industry. These are just a few of the many musicians who have died as a result of violence, addiction, or other causes. It is a tragedy that these talented artists were taken from us far too soon.
